As CEO, I see myself less as a traditional leader and more as an architect—designing a vision where innovation and compassion meet. My role is about shaping the future of healthcare in the home, making sure that our patients, families, and teams are not only taken care of but deeply understood. I believe in building a company that is high-touch, high-tech, and built on high trust. To me, being a CEO isn’t about managing from the top; it’s about empowering every individual at h/care to fulfill our shared mission of bringing comfort and dignity to people’s lives.
My career has always been driven by an entrepreneurial spirit and a desire to tackle the challenges others often overlook. Instead of focusing on the well-trodden paths, I’ve found that the most meaningful impact happens on the edges—where the problems may be harder, but the solutions make a real difference. For most of my career, I’ve worked in post-acute care, spanning senior living, home health, hospice, and skilled nursing. My passion has always been rooted in growth, investor relations, and innovation.
As an entrepreneur, I’ve successfully navigated the lifecycle of numerous startups, learning the art of building something from the ground up. Geoff and I founded h/care with a shared vision: to break away from the traditional mold of home health and hospice care that’s been in place for the last 40 years. Our mission is to create a new era of in-home healthcare that not only attracts the best caregivers but, in doing so, ensures the best possible care for our patients.
My core personal value is loyalty, and I believe there is nowhere that personal value is tested more than when a loved one moves through the continuum of care as they age. For me, home health isn’t just about delivering care; it’s about delivering comfort, dignity, and peace of mind. Every day I wake up knowing that we’re helping people stay where they feel most at ease—at home. That’s my ‘why,’ and it fuels everything I do here at h/care.
Every decision I make centers around one core belief: everyone deserves to feel safe, cared for, and respected in their most vulnerable moments. I’m passionate about redefining how healthcare is delivered at home—through technology, empathy, and a team that shares this purpose.
Outside of work, I’m committed to lifelong learning, always seeking new ways to grow both as a leader and as a person. Whether it’s through reading, engaging with the Lexington community, or spending quality time with my greatest priority—my wife Laura, my son Maxwell, and my daughter Yardley—I believe that true leadership begins from within. I also love traveling the country with my family, as I believe life is all about the experiences we create together.
David Brooks, in his book The Path to Character, distinguishes between two kinds of resumes we all build in life: the “professional resume,” which catalogs our skills and achievements, and the “eulogy resume,” which captures our deeper purpose, values, and legacy. I believe in nurturing both equally. For me, success isn’t just about what I achieve professionally but about staying true to my core beliefs, understanding my purpose, and living in alignment with my values. Knowing your "why" is key, and staying grounded in who you are is the most important thing you can do in life.
